Employment Law Germany in brief:
The employment scene in Germany is significantly different to the UK. With a legal system that has been heavily influenced by the social situation in the country over the years, German employers operate very differently.
In Germany, the entire employee representation system differs considerably from the position in the UK and employers are heavily involved with works councils. Discrimination law is relatively undeveloped compared to the UK and unfair constructive dismissal is not known in Germany.
If you are responsible for staff in Germany you will need to get up to date on the legal framework in order to prevent costly mistakes for your business. This seminar provides an excellent overview of the law in a Germany by an industry expert, emphasising the differences to the UK position throughout.
