Katy Wedderburn

Katy Wedderburn

Katy Wedderburn is a Partner in the MacRoberts Employment Law Group. She specialises in employment law. Katy regularly advises clients with regard to business re-organisations and collective redundancies, the effect and implications of the Transfer of Undertaking Regulations on business transfers, and guides clients through collective bargaining processes including dealing with trade disputes and industrial action.

She was seconded to a UK energy company for a period to assist with the management of one of the largest Scottish business reorganisations in recent years. Katy also obtained a High Court injunction for clients to prevent unlawful picketing.

Katy has broad experience in conducting employment tribunals on behalf of both employers and employees. She has acted for an employer resisting multiple claims by employees for unfair dismissal and protective awards, and for both employers and employees in unfair dismissal, sex and disability discrimination claims.

Katy has acted in relation to the exit of a number of Senior Executives. In addition, she regularly advises clients on a wide range of matters, including providing general and practical employment advice, the drafting and reviewing of contracts of employment, disciplinary and grievance procedures, family friendly and anti-discrimination and harassment policies.

Katy is also involved in delivering management training and presentations in employment law. She has delivered management training in both the public and private sector.
